"My life will never be the same, and for that I am grateful" - the SML programme in Phoenix has a profound impact
I rarely rate programs like this as exceptional - this experience was beyond exceptional."
Kendra Cea, Area Manager, APS, USA
Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council and Oxford Leadership Academy teamed up once again to deliver the first Self-Managing Leadership (SML™) Open Programme of the year. Eighty-seven participants from the USA and other countries round the world such as Mexico and Italy, representing a mix of corporations and not-for-profit organisations, came together to share two and a half days of deep reflection and exploration.
Control is not leadership; management is not leadership; leadership is leadership. If you seek to lead, invest at least 50% of your time in leading yourself—your own purpose, ethics, principles, motivation, conduct.
Dee Hock, Founder and CEO Emeritus, Visa
The SML™ is a ten-step process which leads people towards a greater level of self-knowledge and clarity around the values and purpose that they hold dear. Along the way, through a combination of plenary sessions and smaller, more intimate workshop sessions, participants are encouraged to focus clearly on their strengths and limitations, and develop an action plan which will take their lives in the direction they want it to go in.

Without exception delegates in Phoenix were warm in their appreciation of all aspects of the experience they shared, from the relevance of Brian Bacon's observations in the plenary sessions to the atmosphere of security and trust created by the workshop leaders (from Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine Council), and to the friendliness and efficiency of the organisers. Here's what a few of them had to say:
Going into this program blind (referred by my CEO) I am overwhelmed at the experience, the insight, but most of all the roadmap to making some major decisions - empowering, enlightening, powerful.
Ty Martin, Director of Human Resources, Homeward Bound, USA
The structure and sequence of the program allows the past to be past, yet its essence is to serve as a seed for success in the future.
Liliana Chethuan, Founder, Integral Intelligence, Canada
I have done dozens of programs ... this material and its presentation is the best there is.
Dwight A. Gaudet, Managing Partner, Veterinary Surgical Associates, USA
A great opportuniuty to pause and share, intelligently.
Ennio Ranaboldo, CEO, Lavazza, USA
