Gérard Loiseau has spent a part of his
professional life counselling financial and insurance groups on
their diversification strategies and either as CEO or as
consultant, has been one of the leaders in "life and financial
insurance" business provided by commercial and trust banks.
Gérard has served on many corporate boards including the Board
of Directors of Marsh and McLennan companies in France, Elysees
Gestion, and Elygest Luxembourg, as Vice-President of the Fench
Chamber of Commerce in Mexico, as President of the Cercle 103 in
Paris.
He started his career at the Union des Assurances de Paris,
actually AXA Group, and then held several positions as a Strategy
Consultant at the Suez Group, the Crédit Mutuel Group and the
Crédit Agricole Group, actually CALYON.
From 1986 to 1995, he was founder and General Manager at ERISA, an
insurance subsidiary of Credit Commercial de France (C.C.F.),
actually HSBC.
He then moved from this to taking the position of Chariman
and CEO of William M. Mercer, the Marsh and McLennan consulting
company, in Paris, and led a major reorganization and the
implementation of a new information technology network until
1998.
In 1998, he created GHL & Associés and advised many Start up as
far as their business model was concerned. Quote soon
thereafter, he bought ACTUA CONSEIL, a French employer
employee benefits Brokerage Company. This was followed by the
acquisition of VIRTUAL SEA, at that time dedicated to IT Business
Solutions. And in 2009, he bought GHL Associates, a
Strategic Consulting Company.
He is currently the Vice President Foreign Affairs at Academus
(a Strategic Centre focusing on promoting Innovation and Skills) as
well as the Associate Director at Oxford Leadership Academy™.
He also holds the position of Chairman for Chairman at GHL
Associates (a Strategic Management and Financial Engineering
Consulting Company), Virtual Sea (a Strategic Management
and Financial Engineering consultancy) and Actua Conseil Group (a
Holding Company including insurance and real estate activities
).
He has a Law degree from the Claude Bernard University in Lyon and
graduated as a Full Actuary from the Institut de Science Financière
et d'Assurance in Lyon, France.
Gerard is now based in both Mexico and Switzerland and
specialises in Early-stage start-ups, Strategic Management and
Financial Engineering, Business models, Value chain.
