Miguel Gowland joined the Oxford Leadership Academy (OLA) in
2008. He was appointed Managing Director of OLA in Spain in 2011
and joined the Supervisory Board of the Academy in 2012.
He specializes in organizational culture change and leadership
development. Miguel is an experienced facilitator of Strategic
Focusing ® workshops and group dynamics focusing on strategic
goals, the alignment of teams, and the development of vital
behaviors. He has management responsibility for OLA's global
relationship with Telefónica, and has coordinated faculty
deployment for the culture change process in Spain, as well as
leadership program delivery and executive coaching at Telefónica's
Corporate University in Barcelona
Miguel has organized OLA leadership development, culture change
and coaching assignments in numerous multinational institutions and
governments in Latin-America and Europe, including: AkzoNobel,
Unilever, Nutrimental, Federación de Industrias de Paraná
(Brazil), Nacional Financiera (México) and several others.
He has collaborated in the start up of OLA offices in Mexico and
Brazil, and launched the Academy's Spanish operation, which
he is currently leading as a Managing Director. Our Spanish clients
presently include Telefónica Universitas, Telefónica R&D,
Telefónica Spain, Ferrovial, Almirall, Novartis, Biogen, Deusto
Business School, Mapfre and several other iconic
corporations.
After graduating as an industrial engineer at the Technological
Institute of Buenos Aires, Miguel began his career in the
commercial area of media and telecommunications. He was awarded a
scholarship from Cranfield School of Management in UK, where he
completed his MBA and graduated in 2008. Miguel joined OLA as a
Client Relationship Manager in Oxford shortly after completing his
MBA.
Miguel has been trained by Barrett Values Center in the CTT
methodology as well as in the methodologies of Strategic Focusing
and Self-Managing Leadership® (SML) by Oxford Leadership
Academy.
Miguel is Argentinean, currently based in Madrid. He speaks
Spanish and English fluently.
