Profiles
Being an OLA Fellow
Having trained over 100,000 executives in more than 60
countries, Oxford Leadership is one of the world's top
leadership consultancies and executive training academies.
Established in Oxford, UK in 2003, our history extends back to
1984, when
Brian Bacon established the management consulting arm of US Ad
agency DDB Needham. We presently have 15 full time staff and 50
active Fellows delivering programmes in 23 countries. We have
subsidiary branches in San Francisco, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Sao
Paulo and Mexico City as well as administration offices in Sydney
and Hong Kong.
Our higher purpose is to contribute to the
creation of a fairer, more humane and ecologically respectful
global society by developing and supporting leaders with the
character, presence and leadership skills needed to contribute to
the creation of a better world.
Our core
business is to provide leadership training and (people and culture)
consultancy to large organisational enterprises. We work with
Boards and CEOs of multinational corporations, Prime Ministers and
Presidents of nations. We train, develop, nurture and
support senior leaders to successfully grow their business
with a greater sense of responsibility for the whole. We believe
that business leaders today need to play a bigger game with a
purpose beyond profits, products and self-interest. We have the ear
of the leaders of some of the most influential institutions on
earth. In 2009, we advised, coached, mentored and trained senior
management in 16 countries.
Central to our method is the belief that leadership
starts with the self. Before you can lead your team, steer
the organisation and ultimately have an impact on society you must
be able to lead yourself. In developing leaders, we focus on the
'whole-person', not only the part that goes to the office every
day.
Our core offering, the Oxford
Leadership Development Programme (OLDP) comprises:
- A bespoke pre-work diagnostic evaluation of the individual,
team and culture.
- 3-stage Leadership Training (Leading Self, Leading Others,
Leading Complex Change).
- Following up coaching / mentoring for the individual and team +
culture alignment.
OLA programmes and services are delivered by Academy
Fellows - high calibre, independent consultants who have been
trained, licensed and accredited to deliver OLA IP under the Oxford
Leadership brand. Academy Fellows share a common commitment to
world-service and an uncommonly high level of professional
expertise. They are carefully selected based on a combination
of:
- Character: Purpose, values and vision that are
congruent with those of OLA
- Competence: Experience, presence, presentation
and facilitation skills of highest order
- Chemistry: Commitment to building long term
relationships with OLA and our clients
Our business model involves building the OLA
brand and influence in global markets through strong central and
regional management, and by expanding the use our core IP through
licensing and accreditation of high end professional, independent
consultants.
Although Fellows may operate in their name and / or belong to
other professional networks and groupings, all programmes and
related services based on OLA IP are delivered and managed under
the Oxford Leadership brand. We expect Fellows to give priority to
OLA in all leadership work they do. This means giving preference to
OLA IP and engaging other OLA Fellows.
This structure enables each Fellow to have a stake in the
rewards of the OLA business as well as the freedom to work
according to the life-style each one chooses.
The benefits of being an OLA Fellow include the
opportunity for the independent professional to be part of a larger
firm with significant global influence and all the benefits of a
'name-brand', admin, sales and marketing support and a growing
network of alumni, client prospects and referrals from other
colleagues.
Our reputation and track record of the highest
quality programme delivery means that our training and licensing
process needs to maintain the highest standards. Only when
consultants are ready will they be licensed to deliver OLA
